You can't aim, those sticks feel like a handicap solution, 4 buttons to navigate all the menus etc. If you used m&k your whole life it will feel like playing with a rock. Yeah, don't listen to those suggesting buying a controller. The boss fights are just too epic, and the build diversity is through the roof. If I had to pick only one as the overall best, I'd say DS3 with both dlc is top. BB is still an amazing game in a lot of ways, but the restrictions of the PlayStation crippled its potential. I'd put all 3 of the core souls games on top, with BB at the bottom. DS1 is the most open and free for how you progress, but has the weakest graphics. DS2 feels the longest(which is good!), but the animations are super jank. I prefer the better overall graphical quality of DS3, but the change to poise is garbage and senseless. The rest are all equally good in their own way. I really liked the atmosphere and story of Bloodborne, but the lack of FPS and smooth video killed it for me. All are worth a playthrough.I still haven't played demon souls. In most cases you will just plug it in and it'll work or download the drivers.īloodborne > Dark Souls (remaster is better than the original but the game is exactly the same bar the slight graphical tweaks and technical fixes) > Sekiro > Demons Souls > Dark Souls 2 > Dark Souls 3. Definitely worth the investment of money.Idk who told you xbox 360 controllers are not compatible passed windows 7 but thats wrong, if you have an OEM install of Windows 10 you may not have the DRIVER installed but it is provided by microsoft and is required to drive the Xbox One controller and Ps4 controllers via DS4windows. Most comfortable and sturdy controller I've ever owned. But those are spendy, and you have to go through steam to get it to work properly on PC. My personal preference is the Switch Pro controller. Technically I guess you could also use a dualshock controller.but I've found those to be flimsy and uncomfortable in the hand. If you're using win8 or win10, you'll have to go with an Xbone controller. But you can't often find them in good condition anymore. Just an FYI: Xbox 360 controllers are great and cheap, but aren't supported past win7. Any of the souls-like games, such as Sekiro, Nioh, or The Surge. Hollow Knight or Ori and the Blind Forest. And there are many other games which are like that. You can absolutely do it, but I think your experience will be better using a controller. I know a few people who DO play dark souls with mouse+KB, but it seems alien to me. So it's not like I'm some noobscrub who doesn't know how to play, either. I recently did a deathless run of both DS1 and DS3 using a controller(died on 2nd to last boss in DS3). Which is weird to say, because I'm one of those PC-Master-Race kind of gamers. I can't recommend any of the souls games with a mouse and keyboard.
